Crime blitz parents facing eviction
Press Assoc. - Tuesday, July 15 01:53 am
The families of up to 20,000 unruly teenagers are being warned they face eviction from their council houses.
Ministers are to insist that parents take responsibility for their offspring as they unveil the Government's much-trailed youth crime strategy.
"Too many people, young and old, do not feel safe in the streets, and sometimes even in their homes, as a result of the behaviour of a minority," the Prime Minister told his regular Downing Street press conference. "We need to make it absolutely clear to everyone, but especially young people, that in our country there are boundaries of acceptable behaviour."
There are about 110,000 households in which children are thought to be at risk of becoming prolific offenders - and where authorities are to target special support.
Up to 20,000 families could face eviction from their homes if they fail to rein in their offspring, according to Mr Brown.
Youngsters who carry knives could also face being forced to spend their Friday and Saturday nights carrying out hundreds of hours of community punishment, under the Youth Crime Action Plan.
So okay - these folk get 'evicted' then what? These people will only be rehoused elsewhere so where's the answer in that then? You're not telling me that hundreds of families are going to be kicked out onto the street and then left - I don't think so !!!

I don't think they will or should do that. As a mother myself i believe that i am responsible for my children but i know of people who's children are out of control one of my mates 5 children are so out of control she has tried everything she can to control them and to force them to go to school. She called the welfare office and begged them for help and was told there is nothing they can do if here children do not attend school she will be fined and maybe even sent to jail. I think that is so wrong she has begged for help and no-one is willing to give here any. They should come down harder on the kids as we try or best to guide them in the right way but can't take the blame if the don't listen and choose to do as they please if they were a bit harder on them then maybe they will get somewhere. I know from the past my brother was murdered at the age of 16 by a cowardly man who choose to take his life with a knife rather then sort things out or fight like a man with his hands and what happened to him? 3 years in prison and was out in 18 months for good behaviour where is the justice in that and why would people ever learn that what they are doing is wrong when they are given just a slap on the wrists for taking someones life!

What happened to Borstal? That short sharp shock to bring young criminals back into line.
